Submitting my name for City Council At-Large
Just sharing a personal update that I'm submitting my name for the open At-Large City Council seat.
You may be aware that two of our City Council Members are taking on new roles. At-Large City Council Member Harrison was sworn in as our new Prince George's County Council Member. District 3 City Council Member Boafo will be representing us in the Maryland House of Delegates starting in mid-January.
Because we're within a year of the next City Council election, both of these positions will be appointed by the remaining City Council Members.
In subsequent newsletters, I'll detail accomplishments I'm especially proud of in my time on the City Council representing District 1. I'll also offer an overview on how the City Council and city government work.
The appointment process is completely open and no one is a lock for either seat. If you have an interest in serving on the City Council and want to be considered for either of the two positions, details on how to apply are here.
